Almost birthday time...

Brenna will be six and Taylor will be four; where did the time go? I figure if the first six years went by this fast then so will the next and so on and so forth. It makes me sad and excited all at the same time. If I could just slow down time a little....

Bowling Party

The kids had their bowling party yesterday. Taylor requested this party so much he began to sound like a broken record, so we gave them a bowling party. We weren't even sure if he would be able to lift the ball, but he did and he would toss it down and even knock down some pins from time to time. The problem was as soon as he would toss the ball he would turn around and walk away not even caring about the results and about half way through he was saying "bowling is boring". So we have been there and done that with the bowling party and as much as the adults liked it we will probably wait a few years to have another bowling party. It was still a very funny and happy early birthday.

Resurrection Rolls

Resurrection rolls are an Easter tradition at our house and a yummy one at that.
recipe:
Marshmallow (Jesus)
Butter (oil)
Cinnamon and Sugar mixture( spices)
Crescent Rolls (linen)
Dip the marshmallow in melted butter then roll it in the cinnamon and sugar mixture next wrap it in the crescent roll. Place in oven (tomb) and bake according to package directions and when you get them out Jesus (marshmallows) will have resurrected. It's a fun way to teach kids about Jesus's resurrection.

Happy Easter!

He's still doing it....

Several dentist appointments and three hundred dollars later, he is still sucking his thumb it appears. I don't think he can actually suck it because of the thumb guard but he is still going through the motions. It really makes me wonder if five months from now when it's removed if he will go back to his old ways. (shakes head & rolls eyes)

Rainbow Project

A work in progress.....

Brenna had to do a rainbow project for school, so her and Daddy got to work and made a beautiful rainbow. She was so proud!

Suki aka (The best cat ever)

I thought I would post about Suki, because she never comes out of hiding when we have people over and when I tell them we have a cat they don't believe us. First off she is the sweetest cat ever. We rescued her from Paws, and she was very nervous and may have come from a home of abuse. It took a while for her to warm up to us but eventually she did. She was declawed by her previous owners and when we got her we took her for a check-up and the vet said we would have to have all her teeth removed. So basically she has no claws and no teeth. She is a defenseless creature so we have to be cautious about that, but on the other hand when she uses my leg as a scratching post it's a pain free experience. She is the best pet we have ever had and probably the best we will ever have.

p.s. We have a dog too, but he's a total pain and won't sit still long enough for a pic; I may post about him some day.

The kids first train ride

When we were in Ft. Worth we rode the Trinity Railway from Ft. Worth to Irving. The kids loved it and Taylor kept saying "I've never been on a real train before".
