My Favorite Christmas Card

I thought my favorite Christmas card was Elizabeth's and I do love it, but nothing is better than getting one from your little one in school.

Mothers Day Out Christmas Program.....

I have been to this Christmas program for three years in a row now, I have had an Angel, Sheppard and a Wiseman. This was my last one for a while and I will miss it so much. My little Liam has quite a while before his first program.
Taylor did an awesome job!

Staycation...or not

Chase is on vacation this week, and I am super excited about it. We had gone back and forth on what we were going to do and eventually we decided to stay home and relax. Usually we go somewhere the beach or east to visit family, but this time we decided it might do us some good to hang at home. Well all that changed today, I'm not sure how but we decided to go to Brady Lake and go camping, fishing etc.. I have got to be the best mommy and wife to agree to go camping even though I'm four and a half months pregnant. I tried to explain to Chase that I spend my entire night peeing and usually burning up if it's not a cool 70 degrees. He assured me I will have a nice cot and the weather should be similar to what we keep it in our house and he would assure a safe potty situation for me. He never fails me, so I'm sure it will be fun and will be Brenna's fourth best night of her life ( she is now counting the best days/nights of her life).
I will post pics when I get home.

Update

We went in for a check-up on the thumb guard. He is doing much better than he was, but I asked the Dentist what our next step would be if he was still sucking his thumb at the end of the five months and he said he would refer us to another Dr. for play therapy. He said he will need to find another way to sooth himself. I was in shock, play therapy for a thumb sucker? You have got to be kidding me. We won't be going to play therapy!

Because you make the best food ever..

Taylor: mommy
Mommy: where? I don't see your mommy?
Taylor: your my mommy
Mommy: how do you know?
Taylor: because you make the best food ever

Kicked Out!

That's right I was kicked out of Sherwood's swim park. The kids and I had just got our stuff settled and jumped in the water for some fun when we were interrupted by a life guard. He said ma'am (stupid polite teenager) your shirt has to be white (yes I wear a t-shirt over my swimsuit). I looked down at my shirt that was the lightest gray possible (almost white) and I said "what"? He said if you are going to wear a shirt it has to be white, I then told him I would wait for the manager to tell me something, thinking it was no big deal. Well, another lifeguard said something and then directed me to a manager. We had to get all of our stuff go home and get a white t-shirt. The moral of the story: next time you go to a swim park check the fine print so you don't end up like me.

Almost birthday time...

Brenna will be six and Taylor will be four; where did the time go? I figure if the first six years went by this fast then so will the next and so on and so forth. It makes me sad and excited all at the same time. If I could just slow down time a little....

Bowling Party

The kids had their bowling party yesterday. Taylor requested this party so much he began to sound like a broken record, so we gave them a bowling party. We weren't even sure if he would be able to lift the ball, but he did and he would toss it down and even knock down some pins from time to time. The problem was as soon as he would toss the ball he would turn around and walk away not even caring about the results and about half way through he was saying "bowling is boring". So we have been there and done that with the bowling party and as much as the adults liked it we will probably wait a few years to have another bowling party. It was still a very funny and happy early birthday.

Resurrection Rolls

Resurrection rolls are an Easter tradition at our house and a yummy one at that.
recipe:
Marshmallow (Jesus)
Butter (oil)
Cinnamon and Sugar mixture( spices)
Crescent Rolls (linen)
Dip the marshmallow in melted butter then roll it in the cinnamon and sugar mixture next wrap it in the crescent roll. Place in oven (tomb) and bake according to package directions and when you get them out Jesus (marshmallows) will have resurrected. It's a fun way to teach kids about Jesus's resurrection.

Happy Easter!

He's still doing it....

Several dentist appointments and three hundred dollars later, he is still sucking his thumb it appears. I don't think he can actually suck it because of the thumb guard but he is still going through the motions. It really makes me wonder if five months from now when it's removed if he will go back to his old ways. (shakes head & rolls eyes)

Rainbow Project

A work in progress.....

Brenna had to do a rainbow project for school, so her and Daddy got to work and made a beautiful rainbow. She was so proud!

Suki aka (The best cat ever)

I thought I would post about Suki, because she never comes out of hiding when we have people over and when I tell them we have a cat they don't believe us. First off she is the sweetest cat ever. We rescued her from Paws, and she was very nervous and may have come from a home of abuse. It took a while for her to warm up to us but eventually she did. She was declawed by her previous owners and when we got her we took her for a check-up and the vet said we would have to have all her teeth removed. So basically she has no claws and no teeth. She is a defenseless creature so we have to be cautious about that, but on the other hand when she uses my leg as a scratching post it's a pain free experience. She is the best pet we have ever had and probably the best we will ever have.

p.s. We have a dog too, but he's a total pain and won't sit still long enough for a pic; I may post about him some day.

The kids first train ride

When we were in Ft. Worth we rode the Trinity Railway from Ft. Worth to Irving. The kids loved it and Taylor kept saying "I've never been on a real train before".

Tooth Fairy Time : D

Brenna will get to use her tooth fairy pillow tonight!

Mah Poor Baby....

This is what it looks like when you have a 102.5 fever. Brenna started running a fever on Saturday and has been feeling crummy ever since. We are going to attempt to go out of town tomorrow. When we come back, I'm hoping my camera will be full with pictures of happy healthy children. We have all kinds of fun stuff planned. Wednesday we are going to the Dallas Arboretum, Thursday is the Science Museum and Friday is Disney on ice. Check back for pics!

Homesick

After visiting three churches, we have decided it is time to go back to our home church. We haven't been to one church that comes close to our church. I kept comparing our church to the churches we were visiting. Our church has been a great church to grow in. While visiting other churches it seemed like the majority served to feed baby Christian's. Our church fed us as baby Christians and still feeds as we grow. After searching my own heart, I realized that the reasons we used for visiting other churches just aren't righteous. It is going to feel good to go home again.

Thank you Elizabeth

Thank you Elizabeth for introducing me to aromatherapy. My house smells so good. : )

The reason I love my job....

I love my job, I think it has to be the coolest. I get to hang out with moms and beautiful babies. I wouldn't normally post about my photography on here but I had to because this little guy is special. His mom and I have become good friends and he has stolen my heart. I feel so honored to get to capture this new life in pictures and to just hang out with him. I love this little family!

Beth Moore

I love Beth Moore! She is my favorite bible teacher. She has a 30 minute lesson that she puts out every week and a daily quick word that last two minutes. I'm posting the link so you can see what I mean. : D

What I love about school....

It had been years since I had been in school, up until this January. I decided to take two classes to start off with. No biggie right? Yeah right, school is a total pain in the butt. I thought I would love it now that I'm older and wiser. Not so much! Don't get me wrong I appreciate the education and know I'm beyond blessed for the opportunity but it's just as boring as high school. The bright side, the thing I love about school, I get to work-out for free and I love to work-out! I enjoy being in a room full of other people working-out, I get so inspired. I know, I'm a nerd, but I don't care.

What does sexy mean?

So we were pulling into the parking lot of Texas Roadhouse tonight and noticed the car parked in front of us had "sexy" written in shoe polish on the window. At first I didn't think anything of it, until I heard Brenna sound it out and then ask "what does sexy mean"? I thought how do I explain this without introducing lust. I wanted to answer her questions without compromising her innocence. I don't know if I explained it perfectly, but I think I did a pretty good job of satisfying her curiosity and maintaining her innocence. It wasn't a huge deal, but it did hurt my heart that the world introduces evil into our children's lives and there is so much that we have to tackle.

Workerman Taylor

My sweet friend and her dad let Taylor drive this huge forklift today. He loved it! He always refers to himself as a workerman and today he really was a workerman. After we left we were going to head over to Chick-fil-a, but we decided to get lunch to take home and then go out front and dig for gold. I'm glad we decided to play at home, the weather was beautiful and we are itching for spring.

A wet bed.....

Taylor always starts out in his bed and always ends up in ours. It is something we have accepted or maybe explained away because he is the baby. He still wears pull-ups to bed, because even though he is completely potty trained during the day he still has accidents at night. Well last night Chase changed the sheets on our bed; I love fresh sheets on the bed. However this morning Taylor woke us up saying " I peed in your bed". Chase told him, " You didn't pee in the bed you have a pull-up on; then Taylor said " but I did". After some convincing we checked and yep the bed is wet and I'm wet. Poor Taylor said " Are you mad at me"? Yeah right mad at Taylor. Waking up with him is like waking up with a little sunshine even if you are drenched in pee.
